EMERGENCY ALERT

Today, the people of the Tigray region are facing unprecedented challenges. Humanitarian organizations on the ground are reporting alarming rates of hunger and an urgent need to increase access to water, hygiene, sanitation, shelter, and protection for civilians in most parts of Tigray. The region has also been hit by climate-related crises. As a result, vulnerable children are facing increasing health risks, lack of education, and safety risks amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who We Are

We are NGO that stand for peace, to create non-violent tomorrow. Our Organization’s focus is for peace and stability for Tigray, We are driven to stand up to heal the wounds of Tigrayan, provide final support to the families who have been displace and lost they income due to the war. We will be working on women and children as well as geriatric which really require our help.

Land

Tigray is Northernmost region of Ethiopia with a population of 4.9 million people, approximately 6% of Ethiopia’s entire population. One of Ethiopia’s most important landmarks include the historical town called Aksum, the city of Aksum is famous for building tall towers called Stelae. Aksum contains some of the best-preserved examples of Aksumite-style architecture, such as obelisks, royal tombs, and palaces dating from the sixth and seventh centuries.

Food

One of the most common Tigrayans cuisine is T’ihlo, it is made using moistened roasted barley flour that is kneaded to a certain consistency. The dough is then broken into small ball shapes and is laid out around a bowl of spicy meat stew and eaten around a shared food basket, Mesob is a custom in the Ethiopia and is usually done so with families and guests.

Culture

The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is one of the most sacred traditions Ethiopians have. The woman of the house (or a younger woman in the household) performs or participates in the two- to three-hour coffee ceremony three times each day (once in the morning, once at noon and once in the evening). It is also customary for women to perform the ceremony when welcoming visitors into their home and in times of celebration. Being invited is seen as a sign of respect and friendship from the host family.

These tragic events unfolding in Tigray before our eyes should not be endured by the innocent men, women and children of Tigray due to the unwillingness of all the groups involved to resolve their issues peacefully. We must try and end their plight by doing what we can do to help.

To tackle hunger and sexual violence half the solution is the Provision of medicine to remedy different ailments some caused by the Conflict and some due to the breakdown of the healthcare system.

Sexual Violence

To stop rape. War time sexual violence is intended to. Terrorize the population, break up families and destroy communities and In some instances, change the ethnic makeup of the next generation
